DISCLOSURE STATEMENT. Ohio Works (the “Committee”) is an Ohio nonprofit corporation that is exempt from federal taxation under section 501(c)(4) of the Internal Revenue Code. The Committee has registered with the Ohio Secretary of State as a ballot issue political action committee. It may receive unlimited contributions from any source, including individuals, corporations, limited liability companies, trade associations, political organizations, and other legal entities, but does not accept contributions, directly or indirectly, from foreign nationals, including an individual who is not a United States citizen or national, a government of a foreign country or of a political subdivision of a foreign country, a foreign political party, or a person, other than an individual, that is organized under the laws of, or has its principal place of business in, a foreign country. The Committee is legally required to publicly disclose detailed information on all contributions, including the contributor’s name and street address (as well as employer and occupation if aggregating $100 or more). Contributions by one person in the name of another are prohibited. Contributions from individuals under the age of seven are prohibited. The IRS does not allow contributions to the Committee to be deducted as a charitable contribution for federal income tax purposes.
